BALLYBODEN ST ENDA’S beat Kilmacud Crokes in round two of the Dublin senior football championship yesterday after coming from three points down late in the second half to win by 2-9 to 0-12.
However, Ballyboden’s victory was overshadowed by the controversial second half incident above which saw Crokes awarded a goal only for the other umpire and referee to over-rule the decision, saying the ball did not cross the goal-line.
Had the goal stood, it would have given Crokes a six point lead with seven minutes to play.
The win sees Ballyboden into the quarter finals of the Dublin club championship where they’ll play St Brigid’s.
Dublin SFC quarter final draw in full:
Raheny v Ballymun Kickhams
St Brigid’s v Ballyboden St Enda’s
St Vincent’s v St Sylvester’s
Parnells v St Jude’s
